What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to replicate the appearance of hair follicles on the scalp.

Our Micro-Dot Tech

During the SMP procedure, micro-pigment deposits are applied to the scalp using ultra-fine needles.

At Roots of Majesty, our Micro-Dot Technology utilizes precise spacing, dot layering, and softness tailored to your unique scalp. The result is realistic density that looks effortless and ages beautifully.

  • Each pigment dot is meticulously applied based on your scalp’s unique light reflection, hair direction, and density zones. Unlike pixelated or overly uniform SMP results, our micro dots mimic natural follicle flow — dot by dot.

  • Micro Dot Technology is applied over multiple sessions to build lifelike depth. This layering ensures the illusion of 3D follicle growth instead of a flat tattooed look. It evolves with your skin and ages naturally — no harsh outlines, no fading blobs.

  • Not all scalps are created equal. Our technique is customized for female partings, diffuse thinning, and crown recession — areas where softness, gradient blending, and minimal spacing matter. It’s SMP refined for subtle enhancement, not just camouflage.

Micro Dots, Made Just For You

The Technique: Layered Micro Dots
A layering technique is used to build soft, natural-looking density.

Each dot is placed with consideration for your scalp’s curvature and hair direction, mimicking how natural shadows form.

This approach avoids flat or overly uniform coverage, creating results that blend seamlessly with your existing hair.

  • SMP is a relatively new service in SG but really popular in Korea! What is SMP? Think of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), or scalp tattooing, as the ultimate hairline glow-up! It creates the look of a fuller hairline, covers sparse areas, or enhances the scalp’s overall appearance. It’s perfect for anyone looking to boost their confidence. ✨

  • SMP uses a special machine to deposit tiny pigment dots on the scalp, mimicking natural hair follicles. It helps to narrow wide hair parting or make our hairline look fuller! At Roots of Majesty, we use advanced Korean techniques for precise, clean dots that blend seamlessly—no smudging or uneven results like outdated hand-dotting methods.

You’ll see a difference after just one session, and a second session boosts longevity, making it last 2-3 years. It’s non-invasive and perfect for a fuller, natural look!

  • Nope! It doesn’t change colour- it softens over time, making it low maintenance.

  • SMP is generally not painful, as we use numbing cream to keep you comfortable during the process. Most clients say it feels like tiny pinpricks or a light scratching sensation. It’s so comfy that some customers are snoring away!

There is also no downtime, you can get back on your routine immediately.

  • Yes, you can! For both dyed hair and hair growth treatment, we recommend at least 14 days before or after your SMP session to ensure the scalp micro wounds have fully healed. This helps the pigments settle into the scalp without any irritation.

  • With SMP priced at $288 per area (for a limited -time only), it’s common for a middle parting to be around 2-3 areas, making it approximately $576–$864.

Let’s put it into perspective: Eyebrow embroidery (just 2 small brows!) is already around $300, so it makes total sense that a long middle parting—which is a much bigger area—starts at $600.

Girl math? You’re getting way more coverage for a similar price, and the results last for years, not just months! Now that’s a beauty investment worth it. 💁‍♀️

  • We recommend waiting 14 days between sessions to allow the micro-wounds to fully heal and the pigments to settle properly. While a second session isn’t a must, it’s highly recommended to extend the longevity of your SMP.

With just 2 sessions, your SMP can last 2-3 years, and with 3 sessions, it can last up to 5 years! Girl math? That’s just pennies a day for a flawless hairline and a huge confidence boost. 💁‍♀️
